Wired Internship, San Francisco

This is a unique opportunity, but only open to students taking this for school credit. Since this is in San Francisco, that makes it a bit of a challenging commute! * WIRED magazine seeks a design intern for Fall 2009. The ideal candidate will commit 25-30 hrs/week from Sept through Dec at our San Francisco office. The internship is open to 3rd and 4th year full-time students and must be taken for credit. You'll participate as part of the ASME and SPD award-winning design department, working directly with art directors, designers, photo department, and editors. You'll be expected to help with front-of-book page design, print and distribute manuscripts, manage the wall of current issue pages, create illustrations, scan items for the design department, organize all tear sheets and help with award submissions. Please send cover letter, resume, and at least 5 PDF samples of your work (or link to a portfolio). Experience in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is a must. We value interest in the WIRED culture, and seek those who are motivated, industrious, eager to learn, with a desire to work in a challenging and creative editorial design environment.
