Creative Services Manager

The Creative Services (CS) Manager for Murdoch’s Marketing Department is responsible for maintaining the priorities and the quality of all materials generated in support of our stores and administration. The CS Manager maximizes productivity and efficiency, while maintaining quality through the stringent use of quality control systems. This person has strong prioritization skills and a strong leadership demeanor. They also have the ability to manage multiple and changing priorities on a consistent basis. Leadership/motivational skills are key to managing a strong creative team, yet keeping practicality in place to meet our store needs.

Key Areas of Responsibility
The CS Manager reports to the Director of Marketing and is responsible for meeting the overall priorities of the department from a budget, brand, revenue generation, and timing standpoint.

Specific areas of responsibility that fall under CS Manager include:
• Familiarity with graphic design and other creative development methods and principles
• Supervising and directing staff in a way that ensures all ‘processes’ are being followed for quality control
• Proofing
• Production
• Content accuracy for all collateral and communications
• Brand appropriateness
• Sourcing/cost efficiencies
• Imagery/management/purchasing
• Brand management as it applies to creation of design
• Internet and Intranet related content/communication/graphics/maintenance
• Flyer/suppliers
• Signage
• POS/Pricing/overlap
• Legal/disclaimers
• Database use and management

The CS Manager works with the Director of Marketing to establish departmental priorities and identify areas of focus. Together they use high levels of strategy and creativity to generate sales with all initiatives. In addition, the CS Manager works with the Director of Marketing on continuous improvement and evolution of both strategic and creative initiatives based on the changing needs and goals of the Company.

Skill Set Requirements
• BS/BA in design or related field
• Minimum 7+ years marketing experience at a comparable organization
• Experience with multiple forms of media/product campaigns
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution
• Entrepreneurial, self-starter with hands-on approach
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• A desire for continual professional development
