The Environments Studio of RTKL is seeking a full-time, junior level environmental graphic designer to join the growing team in our Dallas, Texas location. The Environments Studio is an in-house division of RTKL that was established in response to the need for design required in the implementation of projects—an approach that combines architecture with a range of non-traditional design services, such as exhibit and set design, new media, scripting, art direction, graphic and industrial design. Similarly, these types of projects rely on the creation of a design aesthetic that moves beyond form and function architecture into branding and identity design, which is then executed in the built environment.

This position requires an understanding of three-dimensional design as it pertains to signage and wayfinding, and information design. The qualified applicant must have a strong verbal a visual understanding of environmental graphics, be efficient with the Adobe Creative suite programs as well as Microsoft Office, and have strong conceptual skills. 




Responsibilities
• Design and production of a variety of print and three-dimensional elements
• Design and detailing of a comprehensive signage and wayfinding package
• Understanding and keeping up with emerging environmental graphic design technologies and products
• Understanding of branding and the ability to weave a “brand story” into an environment
• Strong InDesign layout skills; ability to create, layout and design large presentations and environmental graphic design packages
• Strong Adobe Illustrator skills with the ability to draw detailed wayfinding elements using CAD Tools and SketchUp

Qualifications and Requirements
• BA in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Fine Arts or Architecture
• 2-4 years of related experience preferred
• Experience in Photoshop, In-Design and Illustrator
• Experience in Web Design/Flash and SketchUp a plus.
