Visual Merchandising and Design Specialist

Summit Resource International distributes Cat® branded lifestyle and workwear apparel around the globe. We are excited to expand our creative, fun, and productive marketing/visual merchandising team! 

Job Summary 

The Visual Merchandising and Design Specialist is responsible for ensuring distribution partners and retail stores receive the proper tools (and are trained to use these tools) to create an inviting, visually appealing environment for our customer’s shopping experience. This individual has primary responsibility for all store graphics, retail window execution and seasonal in-store merchandising stories. Creative merchandise presentations, seasonal fashion trend research and directives as applied at retail, promotional event and idea generation are some, but not all, of the additional responsibilities associated with this position. The Visual Merchandising and Design Specialist position is a cross between visual merchandising, graphic design and marketing. 

Essential Functions 

 Design and development of Retail Windows from concept to execution. 

 Create and maintain the retail window calendar, directives, and distribution lists. 

 Monitor existing window presentation and in-store marketing strategies for effectiveness. 

 Work with Marketing & Product Development Teams on new merchandising tools, fixtures, & signage needed for in-store. 

 Design, develop and generate content for seasonal Visual Merchandising Guide. 

 Partner with additional Cat brand licensees to strategize any in-store initiatives and updates. 

 Oversee Visual Merchandising budget. 

 Elevate the image of the brand through design while considering budgets and timeframes. 

 Keep up with trends in visual merchandising and design for both in store and window presentation. 

 Communicate visual updates and files to the global distribution team. 

Qualifications 

 Bachelor’s degree in Product Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience. 2 to 3 years of retail visual merchandising or display experience preferred. 

 Experience with MockShop visual merchandising software is desired but not required. 

 Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and other basic Microsoft software. 

 Excellent written and oral communication skills. 

 High level of prioritization and multitasking who can manage projects from conception through production in a fast paced and changing environment. 

 Ability to build strong relationships, collaborate, and influence others to achieve required objectives. 

 Self-motivation and ability to work independently to manage long-term projects with little direction. 

 A high degree of strategy and creativity in visual merchandising, design and retail execution. 

 Knowledge of design principles (layout, typography, color, balance, composition and current design trends). 

 Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality. 

Work Hours 

 Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm. Some weekend work days required. 

 Some travel required.
