Interactive Designer

Methodologie is seeking a stellar interactive designer to create the highest-quality interactive communications for our clients.

Required Skills and Experience
• Understanding of brand principles and an exceptional talent at translating those into functionally elegant and visually engaging interactive experiences.
• Strong experience designing highly functional websites (you should be able to show a minimum of five compelling examples of sites for which you have contributed substantial design).
• An impeccable visual design aesthetic.
• Know how to best utilize current technology to meet each client’s communications and business goals.
• Familiarity with usability best-practices.
• Be comfortable sitting at the table and eloquently presenting design solutions to VP-level clients at Fortune 500 companies.
• Highly capable using CSS/HTML.
• Experience with Flash, JavaScript, and/or JQuery.
• Experience with motion graphics a plus.
• Interest in highly collaborative interactive design process connecting designers, interactive designers, and developers.
• Interest in emerging interactive platforms and trends such as mobile devices, social media, and location-based services.
• A minimum of four years design experience at a creative services firm similar to Methodologie and demonstrated experience working with Fortune 500-level corporate clients.

Responsibilities
• Design and help produce highly creative, well-crafted interactive communications that meet clients’ needs and demonstrate the best principles of interactive design. Design innovative large-scale, brand-based corporate websites, interactive modules, demos, animations, kiosks, presentations etc.
• Work with strategy, interactive, design, and account teams to assess client online goals and strategize collectively on recommendations. Attend start-up meetings, conduct relevant client preparation research, review written project briefs, and use them to inform design solutions.
• Develop and refine information architecture plans based on internal and client input.
• Fine-tune into a productive site map and/or wireframe, as needed. Incorporate tenets of usability.
• Conceptualize and design page layout, navigation schemes, and special interactive features.
• Prepare and deliver design presentations; create prototypes, proofs-of-concept, and demos as needed to show concepts and designs are viable and strategic.
• Solicit input from Design Practice Lead along the way; ensure DPL has seen and approved all design options prior to client presentations.
• Follow through on project builds with dev and production teams, including concept testing, design iterations, art production, and solving technical challenges.
• Keep abreast of current design, communication, and technology trends; help to continually improve the quality of interactive design and educate staff and clients on emerging opportunities and best practices.
• Assist in keeping jobs on budget and on schedule by working within hours allocated and notifying Account Manager of potential time or budget overruns before incurring charges.
