Social Media Startup – Internship
Want to see if you have what it takes to work in a lean startup? We're offering superstars the opportunity to polish their portfolio and decide if this is the life for them. You will get the opportunity to give your design mojo some practical application. Working under the mentorship of the Cofounder, CEO and CTO, you'll end the experience with a notch on your belt, and a letter of recommendation. (College credit is also available where applicable.)

About the Company
Are a dynamic team of three of an award-winning social media startup, developing a custom social networking site for a community with 65,000 users nation-wide. We are offering a few extremely talented, smart, motivated individuals the rare opportunity to join us in the war room. We're located in the downtown Fremont in Seattle, the "Center of the Universe", with easy access to public transportation, shops and restaurants.

TASKS
• Follow directions, but you can take initiative.
• Work well under pressure.
• Are fluent in at least 2 of these 3 Adobe apps: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
• Own your own Mac laptop. (PC users, please don't apply.)
• Have an interest in writing or video production, you're welcome to roll up your sleeves and join the team in those departments as well.
• Graphic design: creating original elements and templates for the site and messaging
• Interactive design: working from current style guides, help create new UI and UX elements that are complimentary with the existing site
• Research: identifying new trends in marketing, design and social media user experience
• Team dynamics: participating in group discussions and problem solving with the founder and development team.
• Educational opportunity: through mentorship and guidance, we'll discuss your goals and the skills you'd like to develop.

About the Internship
This internship is heavily focused on design, but as a member of our team, you will be exposed to interactive design, user interface, web application development, marketing, community management and entrepreneurship.
• Minimum of 15-20 hours a week, preferably two consecutive full-time days (9 to 5) per week
• 8-14 weeks depending on your needs
• On-site in Fremont office, highly qualified applicants may be able to work remotely
• Accessible by phone & email

Apart from an invaluable introduction to the inner workings of a startup, and an introduction to some movers and shakers, this an unsalaried internship with a small stipend. College credit available.
