Drive the execution of digital, production-focused imaging from photo plan to file delivery, managing all aspects of studio operation including personnel, equipment, schedule and logistics. Photograph and edit product images to Eddie Bauer standards while achieving best possible capture results.
Core Accountabilities
• Photograph and edit product images to Eddie Bauer brand standards
• Support cross-functional groups to implement effective team approaches and processes for Eddie Bauer's studio photography
• Develop technology, tactics and perspectives that improve photographic quality as well as throughput
• Collaborate with Creative teams to achieve best possible capture results, innovate systems and work flow.
• Review and refine studio process and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and quality
• Select backgrounds and lighting setups for best product reproduction
• Supervise photo "sets"
• Manage Digital Capture Technician
• Color balance and expose RAW images to meet Creative vision and technical specifications
• Review current and upcoming projects in weekly Creative leadership status meetings
• Manage studio staff in photography process from prep, shooting, to post production
• Work closely with internal teams to innovate systems and workflow
• Partner with Managing Producer to forecast and meet budget requirements
• Plans, schedules and coordinates day-to-day work to ensure that studio is adequately staffed, work is assigned, and resources are available to meet performance and cost objectives and deadlines
• Able to prioritize and communicate daily/weekly work requests
• Assigns appropriate studio resources based on project scope and resource talent
• Tracks studio resources based on availability and skill sets
• Leads daily status meetings with studio team to assess cross-functional resource availability
• Participates in weekly status meetings to review current and upcoming projects with Creative leadership
• Analyzes and supports multiple production work requests
• Stays current with emerging digital production technologies
• Supports internal teams and partners in the delivery of solutions, insights, and recommendations • Partners with Creative Operations to deliver consistently high-quality product
• Ensures that tech staff performance meets client, department and corporate standards and processes
Education/Experience Required
• Four year degree (Photography, Computer Science or equivalent preferred)
• 5 to 10 years photo studio experience
• 1-3 years experience managing technical or creative teams
• Experience managing photo crews in a production environment
• Experience shooting apparel and hard goods
• Mastery of creative software tools such as Adobe Creative Suites and Capture One
• Proficiency with Office software tools such as Excel and Outlook
• Ability to understand business and technical processes
• Knowledge of color processes and conventions
• Demonstrated understanding of lighting and photography, both technically and creatively
• Expertise using digital cameras and photographic equipment
• Working knowledge of medium format cameras, all major digital backs and high-end DSLRs
• Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing
• Strong familiarity with Mac OS X and Apple hardware
• Printing experience with RGB and CMYK files.
